New Victims State: Willing to Come Forward in UMC Sex Misconduct Incidents, Involving Two Other Area Churches

An undisclosed source is reporting that new developments have surfaced with another youth victim of sexual molestation coming forward and expressing willingness to file complaints regarding an incident involving a second area United Methodist Church.

Although details have yet to be disclosed, a statement obtained from the victim's family says that the same church district leadership involved in the Sheffield pedophile probe, tried to get the family to "hold off" on addressing the molestation incidents which were officially reported months ago.

Originally, at the time of the incidents, the victim, reported being molested to that church's leaders while on a youth trip and was told to "tough it out" regarding peer sexual harassment and sexually explicit molestation incidents that were reported 5 years ago, when they occurred.

The victim also reports that other youth were also violated by sexual harassment and molestation incidents similar to the reported complaint and that at least one of the perpetrators has been identified as an employee of a local hospital.

As yet, the only identification of the second church is that it is within the Florence Police jurisdiction.
